Dinaric Arc Sustainable Hydropower Initiative-DASHI

In the frame of the regional project “Dinaric Arc Sustainable Hydropower Initiative-DASHI” the Institute of Nature Conservation in Albania in partnership with three other Albanian NGOs (Eco-levizja, EDEN, PPNEA) is implementing a small project aiming to raise the awareness of the public about the irreversible effects of the numerous hydropower constructions projects. This overall objective will be achieved by organizing several awareness raising activities, more specifically by organizing a meeting with the local communities along the Osumi River , a workshop with different stakeholders in Tirana and three presentations with journalists and environmental studies students. At this period (June-July 2012) the working group is preparing an informative package (posters, leaflets, Facebook page, Twitter) about the irreversible effects the hydropower constructions have in the people’s livelihood and in the environment.
