Vjosa/Aoos river ecomuseum – VAEcoM
From May 2012, INCA in cooperation with the Mediterenean Institute for Nature and Anthropos (Med-INA) in Greece and two localpartner, the Forestry Service Directorate in Përmet (AL) and the Greek NGO “Pindos Perivallontiki- Ioannina”, started the implementation of the transboundary project “Vjosa/Aoos river ecomuseum; promotion and protection of the natural and cultural heritage of the Vjosa / Aoos river basin – VAEcoM” financed by EU under Greece – Albania IPA Cross-Border Programme 2007-2013.
The project aims to develop a trans-boundary living eco-museum, with a focus on the natural and cultural heritage of the Vjosa river basin, including productive, environmental and socio-cultural aspects. The project kick-off meeting, organized on 11 – 12 June 2012 in Zagori, Greece, approved the project Action Plan, discussed the main topics for establishing the eco-museum and the establishment of a virtual tour, as well as the project’s graphic identity and website.
