Best practices on fishery in the Karavasta Lagoon

Identifying and analyzing “Best practices on fishery in the Karavasta Lagoon” was the objective of the thematic workshop organized in Divjaka in the framework of the regional program coordinated by Noé Conservation called “Wetland Management and the preservation of Curly Pelican in the Mediterranean Basins”. This program aims to support the management of three lagoons with international importance, listed also in the Ramsar Convent: National Greek Park of Kerniki Lake, National Park of Shkodra Lake and the National Park of Divjake-Karavasta. The workshop addressed the problems of fishing in the area and through conversations with the participants were asked to find a solution for them.

 

Participants from the National Agency of Protected Areas (NAPA), Noé Conservation, INCA and the National Park of  Divjake-Karavasta, as well as representatives from the community took part in the workshop, addressing several issues and challenges regarding fishery in this protected area with the aim to find solutions to them.
