Integrated Transboundary Management plan for Buna River

On October 29-31, INCA in cooperation with the international expert Ms. Madeleine Theochari, conducted several activities related to stakeholder involvement and analysis for the preparation of the Integrated Transboundary Management plan for Buna River. The main stakeholder groups involved in the meeting include local authorities, farmers’ representatives, tourism business operators, fishermen, hunters and NGO community from the region. The discussion was focused on most important values of the area, threats to these values and possible ways to minimize or avoid these threats and provide for a sustainable and integrated development of the area.
