Follow up on Vjosa ECOMUSEUM

On Sunday, March 22nd, representatives of INCA met in Konitsa, with the Greek partners of the Vjosa Ecomuseum project (MED-INA and Pindos National Park Administration) to discus about the future of the Vjosa Ecomuseum. All partners presented their efforts in securing funds for the follow up of the ecomuseum network. The situation is not much optimistic as there are not many donors around with money available to support the idea. However, INCA has submitted a proposal to the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) for supporting activities related to the enlargement of the ecomuseum and better promotion of the idea. MED-INA has also approached several donors and has been looking to alternative funding sources as the Landscape Convention. MAVA foundation was also mentioned as a potential supporting donor. Additionally, the partners discussed other cooperation opportunities in the transboundary context considering activities in the Prespa region and/or Gramozi mountain area. An interesting idea on working with shepherds on transhumance traditions and its landscape and cultural impacts was discussed and considered for future cooperation as well.
